Director of Lindenwood
After spending nearly a decade working in the insurance and financial services industries, I experienced a welling desire to serve the Lord in ecclesial ministry. In response to this call I switched paths and was blessed to find opportunities to serve a number of faith-based organizations directing retreats of prayer, sacred icon writing retreats, hiking and camping expeditions for youth, and catechetical formation retreats for all age groups. Additionally, I possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University, located in Minnesota, along with a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, and a Master of Philosophy from the Catholic University of Leuven, located in Belgium, where I specialized in applied ethics, theology and philosophy. I am blessed to be the husband of my beloved wife, Emily, and the proud father of our sons. I am grateful to work in ministry for the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ where the people of The Center at Donaldson radiate with joy.
Retreat Staff Assistant
Receptionist and Bookkeeper
Delores has been on the grounds of the Center at Donaldson, in one capacity or another, for the last 20 years. She started as the Library Assistant for Ancilla College, worked part-time as a Retreat Staff Assistant, and for the last 15 years she has been working full-time as Lindenwood’s Receptionist & Bookkeeper.
A native of the beautiful state of Wisconsin, Delores often visits family and friends in Milwaukee, a city that will always have a special place in her heart. She loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys traveling to other states for fun and shopping purposes. No wonder that her passions are family, shopping and travel, in that order!
Given the location of the Center at Donaldson, in the middle of nowhere, Delores was surprised to find it and even shocked to discover this order of totally independent nuns, the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. She enjoys being part of one of their ministries and is always grateful for the prayers the Sisters say for all their co-workers. Delores attended Ancilla College and Indiana University of South Bend. Her motto is, “Come visit Lindenwood and you be the judge of all we have to offer.”
May Crider Gunn
May Crider Gunn has been working at Lindenwood as the Event Coordinator since February 2001. She has enjoyed developing long-term relationships with the friends of Lindenwood over the years. The job requires organization and multi-tasking skills which May developed during her earlier career as a teacher.
She is a graduate of Ball State University and taught Earth, Physical and Life Science to middle school and high school students in Indiana before becoming the Event Coordinator at Lindenwood. May understands the need of people, either alone or as a part of a group, to get away from the busyness of life and take time to listen to the Holy Spirit and believes Lindenwood is a lovely place for this exchange. Getting the details arranged ahead of time so the experience goes as smoothly and easily as possible for the retreatants is the goal.
May and her husband Darrell enjoy spending time with family and friends, visiting family in Scotland, golfing, taking trips to Northern Michigan, spending time at their home in southern Florida and taking care of their houseful of furry, four-legged family members.
